About – The Long Story

Scott has three key passions:  technology, leadership, and sports!

Scott has had a computer since the very early 80’s, somewhere starting around ’84 or ’85 with a beige TI-99 4A. He not only had educational programs (His mom was a teacher after all!) but games too, such as BurgerTime! From there the able to obtain several Apple IIe‘s thanks to the school district that his mom worked for (as they were getting rid of them for new computers). From then on he was hooked! He just wishes he would have known how hooked he was before going off to college at the University of Cincinnati (UC), in pursuit of becoming an Architect!

My pursuit of becoming an Architect changed very early into my Freshman year of college; as I soon found my next passion, coaching basketball! This eventually lead to my pursuit of coaching collegiate basketball and changing my major to Finance. Upon graduating from UC in ’02 with a BBA in Finance I set off on my journey volunteering for the Men’s Basketball team at Wright State University (They were and still are in the Horizon League – the Conference that Butler University was in before they moved to the Big East.) as their Video Coordinator. Unfortunately, this was short lived as our head coach was ultimately fired at the end of the season (March ’03).

This put me in complete limbo having to fall back and utilize my degree in Finance. Eventually, I was hired by a small Cincinnati manufacturing company, NuTone. It was here that Scott leveraged his passion for technology to partner with NuTone’s IT Department to automate, simplify, and streamline various processes that were apart of his job responsibilities.

Scott Shepard is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Sports Digital Dashboard. He took a giant leap and founded the company in 2008 as he still saw the same problem with film exchange that he realized during the 2002/03 basketball season while working for Wright State’s Men’s basketball program. Mr. Shepard is very passionate about sports and technology. He always credits his mother, who was a teacher and saw how important computers were going to be as the family had an Apple IIe as early as 1985, for jumpstarting his passion for technology.

Scott has a diverse background with over 14 years of experience in the areas of technology, sports, finance and business acumen. He has been working within the IT Services Industry for over ten years. Most recently Scott the past two years working for GE within their GE Digital Business Unit. Prior to that he was an independent IT Consultant working with various clients within the e-commerce, healthcare, and digital technology industries. From 2006 to 2011 Scott spent five years working for Hewlett-Packard on the Global Procter and Gamble Account.

Additionally, as was mentioned above, he was a basketball coach at the NCAA division one level where his main responsibility was working as the team Video Coordinator obtaining all of the necessary film on their upcoming opponents. Scott is currently pursuing his Master’s in Technology Management from Columbia University in New York city. He also has a BBA in Finance and Management from the University of Cincinnati (2002). He currently resides in the Norwood neighborhood just outside of the city of Cincinnati.
